Advanced communication skills include growing and nurturing client relationships. Your PM’s are your client’s main point of contact as well as key ambassadors of your company. Never assume that they understand how to build relationships, especially with people who may not be familiar to them. This skill depends on personal strengths, confidence, and the understanding of how important regular communication is. These skills are learnable but not necessarily innate. They require practice and support to become second nature. Relationships that are cared for extend to new opportunities, warm introductions to new prospects, and work that may expand the original project.
